How To Pray Effectively | Become An Intercessory Prayer Warrior

Satan doesn’t want you to see this message because the power of prayer is great.

You can download a Free Prayer Book from Christian World Ministries (written by Richard Broadbent III) below, but keep reading to learn how to become an Intercessory Prayer Warrior…

Prayer has the power to and is the only way for you to move the heavens on behalf of those for whom you pray.

Prayer has the power to impact those you love as well as your whole country and even the whole world.

Acute Intercessory Prayer is how to pray effectively in the battlefield wherewith we join forces with God to bring down the strongholds of the enemy.

Prayer QuoteBe Guided By James

James 5:13-18

13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

Acute Intercessory Prayer is earnest and effectual prayer which comes against the wiles of the wicked one.

Fervent prayer that understands the urgent need for intercession.

Prayers with only concern for selfish gain have flooded the heavens to no avail.

Acute Intercessory Prayer – Pray for Others

ACUTE: Severe, Serious, Sharp, Critical, Important, Dire or Desperate

Acute Intercessory Prayer that is effectual is desired by God, was demonstrated by Jesus and is directed by the Holy Spirit.

Abraham prayed intercessory for Sodom and Gomorrah and asked God not to destroy the righteous.

Moses prayed intercessory for the congregation of Israel that God would not destroy them out of His anger.

Intercessory Prayer: Prayer offered to God on behalf of others in accordance with God’s will.

Jesus SignGod Looks for Intercessors

Ezekiel 22:30-31

30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God.

“When God knew of a ruined situation, which was happening to His people, He would share His anguish then seek out a man of prayer and baptize him in anguish.” ~ David Wilkerson

God grieves for injustices like exploitation, human trafficking, heavy burdens and oppression. When you see injustice you should pray to God in intercession.

The Lord’s Prayer and Elements of Prayer

Matthew 6:9-13

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Each time you offer intercessory prayer, use these 4 steps…

Adoration – tell God you love, respect and trust Him and love and appreciate His greatest gift, Jesus Christ.

Repentance – ask Jesus to forgive your evil deeds.

Thanksgiving – thank God for His Son, Jesus Christ and for your blessings.

Petition – ask God to help whoever is in need of His blessings in the way that is His will.

Prayer BookMore Scripture About Prayer

Matthew 26:36-42

36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

Include in your prayers with humility, like Jesus, that you are praying for that which is God’s will.

Jesus showed obedience even unto death though His prayer that ‘this cup pass from me’ before He was nailed to the cross was not the will of God.

Romans 8:26-28

26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Jude 20-21

20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Who to Pray For

Pray for your family. Pray for your friends. Pray for your enemies. Pray for your country. Pray for the Lord’s Martyrs. Pray for the Lord’s Churches. Pray for the Christian Missionaries. Pray for the poor. Pray for those who are sexually and human trafficked. You can also petition for yourself, but save this for last.

Satan trembles when he sees even the weakest followers of Christ on their knees.

  • The power of praying and having faith in the result of that prayer is amazingly big. Everyone should have some kind of faith in their life. By writing this post you are giving the possibility to people to be closer to their whises and their prayers.

If someon wants to do something and they don’t know how, they may en up not doing and that would be a shame. What you are offering is a great resource! Keep up the good work,!

    • Thank you for your encouraging words, Vivi.

One measuring stick of growing in faith is when you really get involved in praying for others.

Praying for others is very rewarding and big, like you say. I like that – BIG is the power of prayer 🙂

God Bless You, Vivi and I look forward to more of your insightful comments.

  • Great, moving post. I think the hardest part for so many is making the time to be honest, transparent, and vulnerable during a prayer. That feeling afterward is always fulfilling. Thanks for the many reminders of how it’s to be done, too. We need more content like this in this day and age. Great post 🙂

    • Thank you for your encouraging comment, Eric.

It really helps many times to get down on your knees in humility to get the honest, transparent and vulnerable way about yourself. I really like how you worded that.

Praying for others is very rewarding and fulfilling and a great way to get close to God.

I am so glad to see you are open to building your faith through prayer and the truth of the Word that is Jesus.

      Christ be with you.

  • Great post. I’v seen many prayers answered but I often have trouble praying myself because I can’t seem to find the right words to express what I want. The Romans 8 scripture really hit home. I downloaded a free prayer book because praying is definitely something I want to improve on.

    • Yes, Romans 8 really takes the pressure off when we don’t quite pray enough.

So glad you downloaded the free prayer book – it really is worth some of your time.

Just think of the impact of some prayers may have on your friends and relatives lives and it’s always good to pray for your country too.

God Bless and may you prosper in all you do.

  • Hello Alexander!

I love the scriptures you compiled. They are a great reminder of the power of prayer. I’ve witnessed the power of prayer in my life firsthand many times, so I can attest that it’s soothing, healing, comforting, and liberating all in one.

I am especially excited about the Romans 8 scripture. It’s so amazing that even when I don’t have the words to pray, the Spirit makes intercession.

Great post. Stay encouraged and keep it up!

    • Hi Tiffany,

Yes, that Romans 8 Scripture is comforting to know we have so much help with just a little effort. Even if we don’t know the perfect words to pray, the Holy Spirit intervenes and makes it acceptable to God for us.

So glad to hear you have a prayer life and that you have seen the wonderful things that come from it, like comfort and many times big problems coming to a solution.

Prayer is a great way to show God that we trust Him.

Thank you for the great comment and encouragement.
